Vitenfabrikken in Sandnes was today's outing. Otherwise known as The Science Factory, it is a hands-on "museum" with all kinds of science activities and programs. We really lucked out again - it wasn't very crowded and we had the chance to go to 2 programs. One was a chemistry demonstration, but this one was presented in Norwegian...despite the fact we could not understand, it was fun to watch the little experiments and based on watching, I had a pretty good idea about what was being said and described. The second one was a planetarium program. This one was in English and was called, "The Heart of the Sun." It was fun to watch and the kids enjoyed the planetarium screen!
Okay and I have to share...I was absolutely cracking up! There was a section that was about water usage and waste management...and one of the presentations was called...are you ready? "HOW MUCH POO?" Yep, I about died...there was a toilet with a plunger in it and when you pulled the rope, up came a huge brown (I apologize...) turd and it represented how much "poo" a person produces in one year...it also had demonstration of how much pee a person makes (for those that are curious...about 1 litre a day, so 365 litres a year) and then went on to tell you where it goes for waste water treatment, etc. I had to include the picture...too funny!
One other little tidbit...I looked the museum up on the web, figured out the map, and drove us there with only a little circling around! Yea me!
Otherwise, it was an uneventful day. Kyla was in quite a mood (and I don't mean that in a good way.) So, as it usually goes, Brendan was in a very good mood today to make up for his sister's bad one...
We are all looking forward to the delivery of our air shipment tomorrow morning! Unfortunately, Spencer will be in Oslo for the the day for work and will miss the delivery. But, no worries...I was there for the packing so surely I can handle the delivery, right? Now the question will be...will I be able to hook up the Wii without assistance? Doubtful...hopefully all the other stuff will keep Brendan and Kyla entertained for a while!
Depending on how long the delivery takes, we may also run by the school and see if the Parent Association kiosk is open yet. I need a few more school supplies and they apparently sell some of them there and Brendan also needs a school t-shirt for PE class. He has to "dress out" this year for the first time. That should be interesting...
Anyway, that's all for today...
